RENAULT CONCEPT
This is the result of a workshop organised by the Ion Mincu University of Architecture in collaboration with Renault France.

We live in an era of technological evolution, an era in which carbon emissions are so great that our planet starts to transform  in ways that we cannot control. That is the main reason why we must find new ways of generating energy for our automobiles. That is where RENAULT P - AIR comes into play. P - AIR stands for “POWERED BY AIR”.
This car is powered by an engine which works with comprimated air.
The car is also equiped with photovoltaic cells that power,  among other functions, the air conditioned system while the car is stoped. This way, the atmosphere inside the car remains healthy all the time.
As for the shape of the car, the inspiration can be found in marine life. The agressive, but still elegant shapes are inspired by the hydrodynamic shape of a shark.
Shark like features can be found all over the car, from the overall shape to details such as the rims. The shape of the rims is genenrated by an array of shark fangs. This gives them an  organic and complex look. Some other features of design that where inspired from shark shapes are the side mirrors which resemble it's swimers.
The concept of this car was shaped to bring something fresh in the car design industry, but nevertheless respecting the rules that define the automobile as we know it.
