RENAULT 4EVER CONTEST
shortlisted

[design] _the basic idea of the design aproach was to maintain the identity of the 60’s renault 4, but at the same time, to “clean” out the original look and thus outlining a contemporary retro style concept car _the design resembles the two main concepts of the 60’s model: simplicity(simple and clean lines) and strenght(compact and robust look)
[technology] _powered by an electric engine that features liquid batteries which can be recharged in a matter of minutes, the present model enriches the 60’ concept of sophistication _the hood is fitted with solar panels which power all the basic functions of the car (lights, inner climate, audio system etc.)
[circular economy] _this model is the first car ever made from eco-friendly and/or recycled materials: metal, glass, polypropylene and other ecological materials like cotton or plant-derived carbon-neutral plastics)

ACCELERATE - SYD MEAD CONTEST

Well, what I've learned from Syd's artwork is this idea - "Take your present and push it into the future through inteligent design". Having that in mind, I envisioned the future of what we today know as a "jetpack". So, this capsule that i made is much like a flying scooter, designed for one person. In 2035, the PFG 100 will be able to fly for about two hours, making this means of transportation the desired one for the big and crowded cities.

This is the main picture I submitted for this contest. The next images are close-up details of the same project. Enjoy!

AQUA CARPATICA CONTEST

Water is an absolutely essential everyday life element. This is the reason why the design of the container suggested here must delight visually the consumer.
The challenge of this project consisted in the creation of a design that should express and foreground the formal purity of the flowing water. This is a design meant to wrap up the natural product: the Aqua Carpatica mineral water. The material selected for the manufacturing of this object, shaped fittingly for a luxury brand item, is glass. Glass was selected for its recycling capacity (minimal impact on the environment) and the elegance it renders to this specific product.
The purpose of this design is to evoke the natural beauty of water through the shape of the bottle. Following this idea, the suggested design is the result of a study on the fluid’s flow conditions. Within the analysis of the fluid’s dynamics one reached gradually, geometrically the flowing fields. Starting from this basis, after obtaining several images of flowing fluid, one determined the inner shape of the bottle. The contrast is achieved in the exterior, where the inner shape is opposed by the vertical, simple, and clear line that highlights the water’s purity.
The design of the cap completes this image. The chromatic material selected, adds to the elegance as well as the glamour of the bottle revealing, at the same time, the abstract side of the idea, namely the notion of the container out of which one pours water. Inside the lower edge of the cap a discreetly colored rubber ring tallies an optimistic note to the whole design. Three color variations, for the rings of each type of water Aqua Carpatica may produce, are suggested: still, light sparkling or sparkling water. Under the rubber ring a series of serigraphied vertical ridges are added. They are placed under the cap, around it, to increase adhesion. This will facilitate the opening procedure.
In order to obtain this special shape of the glass container, a tridimensional metal matrix is necessary to pour into. The desired shape results in two halves that are stuck together. The cap is made out of a chromium plate, molded by a press. Inside the cap one inserts a plastic cast piece that contains the thread. The metal piece between the cap and the bottle is also obtained by press molding. Then it is screwed onto the bottle. The colored rubber ring is fastened to the groove made outside, along the cap.
The design of this mineral water bottle is conceived with a view to its consumption in high-class locations. The bottle suits very well a luxurious environment due to its stylish aspect. Restaurants with a refined interior design, expensively furnished clubs, bars with an exceptional layout as well as exclusive hotels with an exigent clientele would constitute the perfect settings to integrate this exquisite bottle design.

THIRD MAIER S. COOP. INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION
Short listed. 18 finalists http://www.maierdesign.es/es/finalistas.php

ABOUT THE PROJECT,

This project is based on a very simple concept. This concept is that the shape should be as clean & fluid as it can be, without affecting the general functions of a doorpanel, which are: to protect in case of an accident, to assure a certain amount of confort and sense of security and also storage.
The materials used in the construction of this proposal are to satisfy the functions above mentioned and also to bring a plus of confort in the car.
The main innovation consists in the materials used. Therefore the doorpanel it's generally  made out of memory foam which has the proprety not to oppose pressure, thus deforming after the arm of the driver or passenger. This proprety, in the end, gives a plus of confort over long periods of use.
This memory foam is covered with a microfiber material which lets the skin breathe freely.
Other innovations that make life easier in the car are the touch sensitive controls of the mirrors and windows.
All these innovations are integrated in a very simple and clean design, which has fluid lines that define the dynamism that a modern car needs.

PEUGEOT CONTEST

The big cities nowadays are already crowded. We can only imagine how the future megalopolis will look like. This urban conglomeration imposes certain restrictions upon the general size of a car. The ECOCY concept is placed therefore in the mini class benefiting from certain sports characteristics.  This dynamic feature is reflected in the design giving the model the specific aggressiveness of the brand.
Still, the line of the body of the car is fluid, delimitating the clear surfaces, made of quality ecological materials, that define the concept of eco friendly cars, that work on hydrogen based engines.
The ECOCY concept has another focus point in the design of the car. The glass roof has a photovoltaic cells panel that constantly provides the energy for a ventilation system that maintains a comfortable temperature and humidity inside the car. This feature is very useful during the hot summer days when the urban canyon effect can be felt.
The entire concept strives to fit the eco friendly trends of the moment, and at the same time trying to ensure the pleasure of driving while searching for new designs, respecting the stylistic elements of the 21st century.
